Arts Center awarded funds for educational programs from C&N

The Community Arts Center, owned and operated by Pennsylvania College of Technology, is the recipient of $7,500 from C&N through the Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit program. The contribution will be used to support the center’s approved Educational Improvement Tax Credit Programs.

“We are honored to support the Arts Center and are grateful for this organization’s dedication to community enrichment as they bring professional performing arts events to the Williamsport area,” said Tom Rudy, executive vice president/region president for C&N.

The theater is an approved Educational Improvement Organization by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. Educational Improvement Tax Credit funds allow approved organizations to invest in projects that improve access to high quality education programs.

“C&N Bank’s generosity plays an important role in funding our community outreach initiatives, including our ongoing Educational Series performances and our annual holiday staging of ‘The Nutcracker,” said Jim Dougherty, the Arts Center’s executive director.

“We’re very grateful for the EITC funding that we receive, which allows us to bring the spectacle of live theater to so many children and community members throughout northcentral Pennsylvania.”

Funding for the educational programming is derived from various sources, including EITC Funds, individual donations, corporate sponsorships and grants.

“This funding from C&N allows us to continue our commitment to educational arts programming for youth in our community and helps to foster the next generation of creative thinkers,” said Ana Gonzalez-White, Arts Center development director.
